Shito-ryu  Sports Karate School India
In an age where self-reliance is emerging as one of the most desirable qualities in young and old alike, the Shito-ryu   Sports Karate School India offers its disciples the opportunity to learn valuable lessons in taming the body and thereby the mind through a fascinating education in the time-tested principles of Karate. As a martial art, Karate is well-revered as one that teaches the practitioner to know the body and the mind in the same measure and thereby achieve equilibrium in both peace and strife. Be it self-defence for women in times when their safety is threatened, or a way to retain the dexterity of mind and body for the elderly or a means to keep our children, who are increasingly becoming idle and dormant in front of their video games, more active and energetic, the learning of a martial art is the way to go. With experience in martial arts training that spans over 40 years, the Shito-ryu Sports Karate School India offers the perfect solution for all these different needs through specialised batches for women, children and senior citizens.
The School is directly affiliated to the Karate Association of India which is the only Karate Federation recognized by the Government of India and Indian Olympic Association as well as Asian Karate Federation and World Karate Federation. Established in 1977 in Attingal, the School has over 100 qualified instructors as members of its faculty. From its humble origins, the School has grown into an international network dedicated to the Shito-ryu method of Karate with branches all over India and in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the UAE. More than 10,000 students in a wide age-group from 5-65 and over are currently undergoing training in the School. The instructor to disciple ratio is kept at the optimal number of 1:10 to ensure thorough attention to each student.

Kyoshi S. Nazarudeen:
nazer bw1The Shito-ryu  Sports Karate School India was founded Fourty years ago by Kyoshi S. Nazarudeen in Attingal, near Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Kyoshi S. Nazarudeen was born in an ordinary middle class family in rural Thiruvananthapuram. He did not, however, let his humble background stand in the way of his passion for martial arts.
Pursuing his dream to excel in the martial art of his choice, Karate, he trained under several revered masters both in India and abroad like Dai Sensei Moses Thilak, Soke Kenei Mabuni, Sensei Araka Wa, Sensei Tommy Morris, Soke Yoshimi Inoue (Japan), Soke Masahiro Okamura (Japan), and Konichi Mora (Japan). World Champions like Rika Usami (Japan), Antonio Diaz (Venezuela) and Miya Nakayama (Japan)

In early 1977, he started training pupils of his own. It was a time when the discipline of Karate was not all that fixed in the popular imagination as it is now. It was a field little heard of, especially in rural Kerala. In the beginning, in an effort to bring Karate to the masses, Kyoshi S. Nazarudeen used to travel on foot to reach his disciples, to keep the passion of the art alive in them.
He has come a long way since those first hard days with nearly  7000 disciples who trained directly under him receiving the Black Belt, many of them with the prestigious distinction of 7th degree Blackbelt & Accredited Coach from World Karate Federation and 5th Degree from Inoue-Ha, Japan. Over the years, enthusiastic disciples with the right kind of passion for the discipline have been handpicked by him to spearhead the popularisation of the Shito-ryu method in Karate. Kyoshi S. Nazarudeen is now recognised as one of the leading masters of karate in the Shito-ryu method in India.
